FINAL FANTASY XIV Traditional Chinese Version Officially Unveiled: UserJoy and Nada Holdings Host Launch Event with Naoki Yoshida; Version 7.0 to Debut at Launch

Taipei, March 30 – Game development and publishing company UserJoy Technology, in partnership with Nada Holdings, officially unveiled the Traditional Chinese version of FINAL FANTASY XIV (FFXIV) at a press conference and fan gathering held in Taipei. The event featured a special appearance by Naoki Yoshida, Producer and Director of FFXIV, who joined in lighting the symbolic Aetherlight in the widely acclaimed MMORPG, marking the beginning of a new chapter for players across Traditional Chinese-speaking regions.

The ceremony opened with a dazzling light-and-dance performance set to “Footfalls,” the theme from Endwalker—FFXIV’s Version 6.0 expansion. Andy Liu, Chairman of UserJoy, welcomed Yoshida and emphasized Square Enix’s commitment to players in the Traditional Chinese-speaking region. Reflecting on the energy of last year’s FF14 Fan Festival in Tokyo, Liu said he was moved by the passion of the Warriors of Light and reiterated USERJOY’s mission of bringing joy to users as the company celebrates its 30th anniversary this year. He also thanked Nada Holdings for their long-term support, as well as all the players who attended the event. Distributing this world-class game marks a major milestone in UserJoy’s company history.

Joe Teng, Chairman of Nada Holdings, followed with remarks on his long-standing connection to the FINAL FANTASY franchise since the Famicom era, calling FFXIV a timeless title that continues to resonate with players worldwide. He credited Nada Holdings’ trusted production partnerships with Square Enix for making the localization possible, and praised UserJoy’s proven expertise in game operations management as a key factor in realizing this ambitious launch.

Aetherlight Ignited: A New Journey Begins

Amid cheers from the crowd, Yoshida took the stage and addressed attendees with genuine warmth and approachable charm.

Soon after, three iconic class representatives—Black Mage, Dragoon, and Paladin—appeared and handed over their weapons to a trio of the honored guests. With the Stardust Rod raised, the group united to light the first Aetherlight in the Traditional Chinese region. This act symbolized the awakening of Warriors of Light and the beginning of a new adventure in Eorzea.

Launch Plans Revealed: Version 7.0 Confirmed

During the operations briefing, Bruce Yeh, Director of International Affairs at UserJoy, outlined the management team’s strategy for delivering a fully localized and premium experience. This includes high-quality translations, a stable technical infrastructure, streamlined registration and payment systems, immersive community engagement, and dedicated customer service.

The Traditional Chinese version will launch directly with Version 7.0, the latest expansion content, bringing local players in sync with the global timeline. While the pricing model will follow a base game purchase plus monthly subscription structure, the localized edition will offer ongoing content updates at no additional cost—differentiating it from the global version. This decision was made in consideration of the average cost of living and market pricing range in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, and Malaysia. As a token of appreciation, players participating in the two-phase closed beta will receive exclusive early access offers and discounted starter bundles.

Yeh further emphasized a player-first philosophy in fostering a positive gaming community. Fair rules, transparent communication, and mutual respect among players will serve as the foundation for ongoing operations.

In a live Q&A session, Yoshida answered pre-collected questions submitted by attendees. Topics included how new players can enjoy the vast storyline and content, must-experience features that make FFXIV truly unique, and how the game development landscape has evolved over the past decade.
