Japanese voice actress Sumire Uesaka, who plays the beloved character Meat Alexandria in the anime Kinnikuman: Perfect Origin Arc, made a special guest appearance at the Taipei International Comics & Animation Festival (TICA) on February 8. Hosted by anime distributor Tropics Entertainment, the event drew fans eager to see one of the most popular voice talents in action.

Onstage, Uesaka charmed audiences with her sweet, energetic presence and treated fans to a live reenactment of key scenes from the anime—including a memorable exchange between Meat and Terryman.“That was amazing!” many fans exclaimed, reliving the adrenaline and emotion of the classic wrestling-inspired series. Her onstage performance, filled with heartfelt delivery and comedic timing, reignited the crowd’s passion for Kinnikuman, with many cheering that “the spirit of wrestling heroes lives on!”

She then announced a surprise: she would personally sign autographs for fans and write each name by hand—creating treasured moments of connection with everyone in attendance. During the signing session, Uesaka remained warm and cheerful, chatting with fans and often showing her own playful side, moving fans’ hearts.
Before the event began, Uesaka visited the Kinnikuman: Perfect Origin Arc booth inside the venue and posed for photos with cosplayers dressed as Robin Mask and Ramenman. She later commented,
“You can really feel the passion for anime here in Taiwan—it’s so heartwarming to experience it firsthand!”

During a press interview, Uesaka shared:
“I was already a fan back in my student days. Being able to voice Meat is truly an honor. I especially admire his calm, strategic personality as a strategist,” she said with a smile.
As someone who has visited Taiwan multiple times, Uesaka also mentioned that she always looks forward to enjoying hot pot after her events, and hopes to finally visit Taipei 101, which she has yet to explore. Her connection with Taiwan and its fans continues to grow stronger with each visit.
